Early 1980's black velvet vest. This vest has such a beautiful design, and it has a very international vibe. The velvet is super soft and plush and going in horizontal lines down the front are stripes in colorful ribbon trim of different widths, most with gold thread. Some of the prints in trim give off an almost east indian look. It's so polished and pretty, and looks great worn alone but would also be darling layered. The back is solid black velvet with a tie at the waist. The vest is fully lined and feels great on. The buttons are really distinctive - they are asian style frog buttons. Some of those can be hard to button but these work great. It would also be cute with the buttons not done up. A very versatile piece.
Brand tag says "Eagle's Eye" and there is a fabric/care/size tag under that. It says the velvet is an acetate rayon blend with a silky acetate lining. The care says dry clean but it did well with a quick soak in cold and hang dry for me. Condition is perfect. No holes, stains, or odors, presents like new with many years of wear to go.
Size is about a medium to large but it can accommodate a variety of sizes. The measurements are as follows:
