1980's skirt set or skirt suit in the most amazing print of high contrast black and white. To me the print looks African inspired, it is just so cool and has major 80s vibes. The other part of this fabric that is unique is that it feels like a gorgeous cotton, and it is matte with a kind of woven hand, but its actually 100% pure silk, so luxy! The blouse of the set has. pocket on the left side with a straight collar and black buttons down the front with side splits on either side of the straight hem. Boxy or blousey fit, cute loose or tucked and I've shown it both ways. The skirt has a pencil shape with deep set pleats in the front and pockets on either side. Skirt closure is two buttons on the left side with a silk gusset. I just love the shape of this skirt. The silhouette of this suit is very modern and cool, I would even say is is an 80s does modern suit because it would look so sharp in a modern setting but unlike the fashion of today this skirt set is very well made.
The brand tag is "George Georgiou" and it also has a fabric care tag. The top says size S, and the skirt size M, but they were certainly worn by the same person. As I mentioned before the fabric is a gorgeous pure silk. The top is not lined, but the skirt is fully lined. Freshly soaked and steamed, no holes, stains or odors. The only problem was the seam at the top of the back slit in the skirt was just starting to come out so I hand stitched it back in place and it's super solid now. Like new, no fade, ready to wear and presents just beautifully!
Size is a modern large, but the skirt fits a bit more like a modern extra large so it might be best for a gal who is larger on bottom than on top. It fit me well, and I'm a size 10, but I did not button the top button as my bust is more like a 41-42, otherwise it was flattering on me and I have a 31 waist and 40 hip. The measurements are as follows:
