1950's black wool/rayon blend a-line pencil skirt

$39.00

Early 1950's wool blend a-line skirt in a deep black with no fade. Sits high on the waist and closure is a metal talon side zipper with a plastic button at the waistband. It has a gorgeous silhouette, cut in panels, and so flattering on. It is the perfect vintage separate staple for any collectors closet! It goes with everything!

There are no tags in this skirt, it is possible that it was handmade, but if so it was a very expert seamstress. There are some clues that this skirt could be 40's but based on the lot I bought it with I think it is late 40's to early 50's. I'm not positive on the fabric, it has some rayon properties but It is textured like wool, I believe it is a rayon wool blend of some kind. The skirt is unlined, but the fabric is thick enough that a lining isn't necessary. Condition is excellent! No holes, stains, or odors, freshly steamed and ready to wear. Where the panels connect you can barely see the imprint of the seam fabric, it isn't quite iron shine, but you can see what I mean in photos. It does not distract at all from how beautifully this skirt presents, just wanted to make you aware of it. It looks amazing as you can see!

Size is a modern extra small or about a size 4. My model is a smaller 6 and this was a bit tight on her but looked great. The measurements are as follows:

Waist - 25"
Hips - 39"
Length - 25.75"
