1940’s skirt with the most mind blowing army novelty print from world war 2. The print of this skirt is so rare and special. It features marching soldiers, army flags, a Sargent yelling, people bathing and just a playful variety of WW2 army scenes. I even had a local tattoo artist come take photos of these iconic images for his tattoo selection. The fabric is a sturdy 100% cotton and closure is a very early talon zipper with buttons at the thick waistband. There are pint-tucks all around the waist creating beautiful fullness to the skirt.
No tags which is not uncommon for this time period and it’s possible this skirt was handmade. Condition is excellent! I very carefully treated a few stains, practically impossible to see now with the bust print. No holes or odors, freshly washed and ready to wear.
I purchased this from the estate of a woman local to my area of Northern Utah named Rula. She was born in 1922 and she was involved in the war effort from here working phones and other things. I sold one other incredible WW2 piece from her that I can send you a photo of if you’d like. She had amazing taste in clothing but was very very small.
