1930’s gothy noir dress with tonal embroidered polka dots and dramatic zig-zag tule 🖤 This is such a special dress, sleeveless, ankle length, rounded drop waist bodice and a beautifully full and flowing tulle skirt. The cut of the neckline is so striking but the back has a similar shape plus a bow - we LOVE a back detail moment.
So happy with the way this restoration turned out. Excellent condition with tiny stitched then patch backed repair on shoulder. There is also a patch behind the very front middle neckline where there were some barely there pinholes - probably from a dress clip or broach. Closure is snaps on the side. We repaired some seams and snaps and fixed stitched a few tiny holes in the tulle but condition is now excellent and as you can see it presents beautifully!
This dress is from the “Dottie” collection. If you’ve been here recently you know she was the great Aunt of a darling woman who came in a few months ago with a chest of unbelievably beautiful items. Dottie spent the majority of her life in Cheyenne Wyoming and I just love imagining her in these incredible dresses on the rough and tough western frontier.
Best fit is a size XS/S - model is about 5’8” with a 24” waist. Super thanks to our stunning Madeleine for modeling this wonder. The measurements are as follows:
