1930's soft sliver 3-piece dress set featuring a gorgeous bias cut maxi dress with a matching jacket and a bias cut slip with a low back made for the dress. This dress has a halter style top with beading in the bodice and around the high neckline and back straps that creat a halter silhouette. The rest of the dress is long and cut on the bias creating a gorgeous shape and lovely movement when worn. The matching jacket is a little bolero style with covered buttons and a long rolled collar. The beading detail continues on the jacket which is so pretty. I purchased it with a slip that clearly was designed to go with the unique design of this dress so I'm selling it with the set. There is no closure on this dress other than the hook and eyes at the top back of the neckline so I was not able to get it on a dress form - it requires collapsible shoulders and a small frame to get on and off.
No tags which is not uncommon for this time. I purchased this from a local estate here in northern Utah. It was in a chest and in fairly good shape but I did do an extensive restoration to get it into this great of condition. It has been soaked and steamed and the straps in back had to be sewn back on. I also reinforced the eyes of the hook and eyes. The jacket had significant pit stains and needed repeated soaks in order to lift those stains. It came out really well but there was still a tiny yellow discoloration on the shoulder - you can see what I'm referring to in the photos. Not noticeable when worn. There are a few places the beads are coming off a bit - I have sewn them back down so they are secure now but this is most noticeable on one of the beaded starburst on the back of the matching jacket. Still not something that stands out when worn. Overall excellent condition presents beautifully.
Size is a modern XS - a bit tricky to measure with the bias cut but best fit is a modern 0-2 sized person. The measurements are as follows:
Dress:
Bust - 32"
Waist - 25"
Hips - 38"
Length - 64" from to strap to bottom but bias cut dresses measure longer than they wear
Jacket:
Bust - 36"
Waist - 26"
Length - 17.5"
Shoulder - 13.5"
