Late 1940’s to early 1950’s plaid skirt in vibrant shades of green red and yellow on a cream background. This skirt has a timeless design with a thick waistband and pleats all the way around radiating from the center front. It’s made from a lovely soft wool and the print and colors are so iconic and versatile. It would look amazing in same period separates or with a beat up concert tee and boots. Closure is two very cool green plastic buttons and a metal zipper under that.
No brand tags and it’s possible this was handmade, but if so expertly. It came from the estate of a woman named Maxine who was tiny and had such cute style. There were two small holes that I noticed after soaking the skirt but I was able to take matching color fabric from the seams inside and patch them so they are not at all noticeable now. I’ve shown what I’m referring to in photos. Zero stains or odors. Presents beautifully with years of wear to go.
