1960's large scale print Hawaiian print sheath dress with HUGE gorgeous tropical flowers in an art print on the front with a background of gradient almost airbrushed looking yellow stripes. The contrast is so eye catching! The dress is sleeveless with a classic 60s silhouette that has diagonal darts at the bust and its otherwise worn kind of loose. This dress does have a really cute matching tie that I totally forgot about when I shot it with the model, but it would look darling cinched at the waist as well. The fabric is an easy to wear and care for, very high quality combed cotton. This dress is fully lined, clearly it is very well made and was an expensive item at the time. There are little slits on either side at the seam for easy walking. Closure is a matching yellow metal YKK zipper with a hook and eye at the top.
It has a lovely little tag in the neckline that says "Combed cotton, fully lined Screen Printed 100% cotton, made in Japan" - it also says 14 which I would imagine refers to the size but of course it does not translate to modern sizing.
Condition is beautiful! I was so pleased with how nicely it washed up! No holes, no odors, and really the only flaw to report is the teeniest tiniest most faint mark right around the center neckline, I pointed it out in photos, it is almost impossible to see. Other than that, I tightened the seams a bit at the top of the side slits and it presents just beautifully, almost like new!
Size is a modern medium, but it can accommodate a variety of sizes depending on how loose or tight you prefer. It looks amazing on my small size 6 model unpinned. The measurements are as follows:
Bust - 37.5"
Waist - 38" (but with the tie could go as small as you'd like)
Hips - 41"
Length - 37”
