1950's heathered light brown top with a beautiful design. This top has a raglan cut bodice with cap sleeves, and a scoop neckline that has pin-tucks creating lovely fullness in the bust. The cut of this top seams it was meant to be tucked as the bodice on top has volume then comes to a flat panel at the bottom that has some little pin-tucks coming out of that so it would lay flat under a skirt. I've shown it with a pencil skirt and a full circle skirt to get a good idea of how it is worn but those items are sold separately. I love the color, so versatile and looks great on lots of skin tones and I believe the fabric is cotton. It is so rare to find great separates from the 50s so I was thrilled to discover this in a local vintage estate haul. A wonderful addition to any collectors closet.
I found no tags in this dress, it could have been handmade but if so it was very well made. Condition is excellent. Freshly soaked with no holes, stains or odors. I did a few small repairs under one armpit and at the waist seam, but it is now super solid and ready for many more wears. I wish it had a zipper because if it did I bet it could fit me, but it is pullover style so keep this in mind with the measurements. It would be fairly easy to add a side zipper if you wanted to.
Size is a modern medium to maybe large if you can get it over your head okay, and as you can see it fit my size 8 model beautifully. The measurements are as follows;
