1950’s rainbow stripe fit & flare dress w/rhinestones on v-neckline, full skirt

$125.00

1950’s rainbow stripe fit & flare dress w/rhinestones thoughtfully placed around the v-neckline. The print on this dress is so beautiful and unique, colorful stripes in varying widths are color blocked between black sections, just a stunning 50s cotton print. My favorite feature of this dress are the pointed sleeve cuffs, I get irrationally excited about a pointed sleeve cuff and these are the epitome perfection on this detail. The sleeves are dolman cut with no shoulder seam. The skirt is very nice and full from the panels that connect right at the bottom of the bust and get larger as they go down. It fits tight through the bodice with a metal zipper side closure. The print placement on this dress is very thoughtful creating a figure flattering silhouette. It is rare to find a 50s dress that is both cotton and formal, the cotton makes it easy to wash and wear but the rhinestones dress it up making it versatile for many occasions.

The brand tag says "A Joan Curtis Fashion" Boris Smoler and Sons. I purchased this dress for myself, and I paid more than I'm asking, but unfortunately the previous seller did not disclose some flaws. I bought it right before Viva Las Vegas but I was not able to wear it because there was a rip starting in the fabric not the seam right next to the left armpit. If I had worn it dancing it would be ripped all the way down the bodice in short order, so I never got to wear it. I'm pleased with how the repair came out. I patched it from behind and then just to be sure it is solid as can be I sewed matching thread back and forth to secure the repair so it will have many more wears in the future. I've shown this small repair in photos. There was also a tiny hole on the left shoulder coming perpendicular to the top seam. I secured this hole with a patch only as I didn't want to add thread up on that more obvious place and it is in an area that does not have any stress on it so I feel confident it will stay solid now. The sleeve cuffs were safety pinned so I tacked them with thread and will stay put now. The fabric does have some overall fade, the black was a deeper darker black originally, but it still has nice contrast with the colors. All in all, I did hours of work on this dress and paid quite a bit more than I'm asking (I am paying shipping). And as you can see, this dress is not in excellent condition and presents just beautifully. I honestly am having a hard time parting with it, but my customers are asking for larger sizes so I'm offering a few special pieces from my own closet.

Size is a modern large or around a modern size 8/10. I have shown it clamped on the form so you can proper shape with one shot of the dress loose and flat for your reference. The measurements are as follows:
