1960’s fit & flare sleeveless dress w/ sheer chiffon overlay

$85.00

1950’s true green fit & flare dress with a sheer chiffon overlay. This dress is sleeveless with a sexy scoop backline that is low and square and a very full and flowing skirt. It’s on the formal side and the color is so rich and uncommon that it certainly makes a statement. The sheer overlay has amazing movement when worn. Closure is a talon back zipper with a hook and eye at the top.

The brand tag says "Junior Set Dallas" and there is a tag under that but it is illegible. Just a side note, I would be so certain this dress was 1950s if it weren't for the zipper not being metal. It has a totally 50s silhouette and design and the tag is very 50s as well, but to me the zipper looks original which means it would be at least early 60s. Condition is excellent! I have never found a sheer overlay dress in such amazing shape, no holes, stains, or odors. I wan to just note that the sheer skirt is about 3" shorter than the bottom layer. It has a lot of seam allowance, so it could be taken down, but I've surveyed some other resellers and most people think this was how the dress was produced to give it that kind of layered look with the skirt. If you wanted to line up the chiffon with the shiny under-dress you could take that hem down fairly easily. I think it presents beautifully as is. The dress is truly in gorgeous condition as you can see.

Size is a modern XS/S or about a size 4. It did fit my model who is between a 4 and a 6 but was a bit tight on the waist, but is such a sturdy dress we had no problem zipping it up. I think best fit is a modern size 4 or so. The measurements are as follows:

Bust - 34.5'
Waist - 25"
Hips - open
Shoulder to waist - 14.75"
Waist to hem - 24.5"
