1950's pinstripe seersucker wiggle tank dress featuring a beautiful figure flattering silhouette and many subtle 50's details. The construction of the bodice is very interesting with the stripes set on the bias going diagonally in 4 panels making a very cool design. On the top left panel is the most distinctive feature of the dress which is a thick embroidered design that almost looks like a monogram of some kind although I'm not sure what the letters are, I think they may just be swirly decoration but you could probably find letters in the design if you really try. This dress has a darling matching belt in perfect condition but it had fallen under the ironing table when I took the original photos so I only have a few shots with it on the white form (the dress doesn't actually zip on that form but I wanted to show it with the matching belt) There are pleats coming up from the waistline in front and back on the bodice and on the skirt there are pleats on either side in front and darts in the back. Unless you are quite tall this dress will fall below the knee. My favorite little detail are the pockets on either side of the skirt, such a nice touch! Closure is a metal back zipper and the fabric is a beautiful cotton seersucker - easy to wear and care for.
Brand tag says "By Marcy Lee Dallas" and it is a lovely little label. The condition is excellent. Freshly soaked and pressed so no holes stains or odors. I did notice where the kick pleat is in the back of the skirt there was a little spot where maybe a heel or something had skimmed the bottom of the fabric, wasn't quite a hole but the beginning of one so I hand stitched it from behind and now it is solid as can be. Shown in photos, but this was the only flaw found on this precious gem of a dress. The only reason I've priced it low for such a special item is because of the rare small size. Presents beautifully with years of wear to go.
This dress is very small - best fit around a size 0-2 or XXS and the measurements are as follows:
Bust - 34.5"
Waist - 23.5"
Hips - 36.25"
Shoulder to waist - 16.75"
Waist to hem - 25"
