Absolutely gorgeous 1950's formal spring or summer dress with classic 50's fit and flare silhouette, beautiful light mint green color with amazing details. This dress features a scoop neckline, short sleeves, very interesting construction with darts that articulate under the arm and the most gorgeous waistline accented by piping with a bow in the center that has what look like flower petals or curved curtains on either side of the skirt creating the most incredible shape and movement when worn. This dress is fully lined with a sheer chiffony fabric on top creating that formal look. The skirt is super full and has deep pleats on either side of the front and back. Closure is a back zip that is in really good shape.
There is no brand tag, but this dress was clearly not handmade. It does have an AFLCIO union tag in the skirt side seam and there is a lot tag sewn on the hanger loop inside the shoulder which is something I haven't seen very often.
Condition is pristine! I soaked and steamed it myself and had my tailor work on the one thing that was wrong which was the hem - it has all been fixed by hand and presents almost like new. It's so rare to find such a special dress in such amazing condition!
Size is a modern XS or about a 2-4. The model shown is 5'1" and she is about a 32/23.5/34. The measurements of the dress are as follows:
