Late 1980's to early 1990's Levi's sherpa lined stonewash/acid wash denim trucker jacket 70609-0219

$64.00

Late 1980's to early 1990's Levi's acid wash or stone wash sherpa lined denim trucker jacket. This jacket is a timeless streetwear piece - and perfect for the fall/winter season, it's SO cozy and warm. The denim has a medium rinse blue that we called "acidwash" in the 80s but I've seen some refer to it as stonewashed. The sherpa lining is high pile and so warm and inside the whole jacket except for the sleeves which are quilted and insulated, easy to slip on and off with a silky nylon lining. There are generous hand warmer pockets on either side and those signature Levis copper snaps at the sleeve cuffs, back waist tabs and down the front. The contrast stitch is a maizey yellow.

Tag is the kind of western looking late 80s "Levi's San Francisco" and it also tells us it was made in the U.S.A. The inside care/lot/fabric tag has the red batwing, indicating it was made in 1987 to 1995 from what I understand. I've shown a photo of the internal tag for all the needed info, but after going down a rabbit hole of how to read these tags I still am not sure which numbers would indicate the manufacturing date. I don't believe the tricks you use to decode internal tags on jeans applies to jackets the same way so I got a lot of conflicting information. I'm certain 527 is the correct factory code as this is stamped on the snaps but the rest is a bit more tricky.

I purchased this from a local who's brother was the original owner. It was structurally sound but very dirty. After 3 soaks and a delicate wash cycle I'm pleased as can be with how super clean and perfect it came out. There were a few little balls on the sherpa that were not white but I've been carefully shaving them off and now the denim is crisp and clean and the sherpa is bright white. No flaws to report, as you can see presents beautifully with years of wear to go.

Size tag says mens XL but I think the measurements are between a modern mens L to XL. I'm wearing it in the photos layered with a very bulky sweatshirt and it was cute on me worn loose but could certainly accommodate a larger person. The measurements are as follows:

Bust - 50"
Bottom hem - 50.5"
Length - 25"
Shoulder - 22.5"
Sleeve - 23.75"
