1950's rich teal blue fit & flare dress featuring the most stunning gradient rhinestone details going down the bodice and on the huge pointed flap pocket on either side of the skirt. A friend who owns a shop in SF told me he calls these "kitten pockets" and I love that! The perfect place for a tiny cat. Sleeveless with a classic silhouette and a very full skirt this dress is beautifully made. The color is striking and even though it is cotton the rhinestones give it a more formal vibe. Closure is a metal back zipper with a hook and eye at the top.
As I mentioned this dress was handmade but done very well with one funny thing. When I purchased it it had a metal zipper but it was put in upside-down, no idea why. Maybe the original broke because the upside-down zipper was weirdly white. I was able to replace it with a period correct metal zipper that matches much better and now you can actually get the dress on! As you can see I put a hook and eye at the top and there are some tiny spots where the zipper shows but over-all much better than before and nothing that would be noticeable when worn. Fully washed and restored with no holes, stains or odors. Presents beautifully with years of wear to go.
