1950's fit & flare shirtwaist dress abstract circles print in shades of blue & green, collared w/rhinestone buttons & matching belt size XL 34" waist

1950's fit and flare shirtwaist dress in the most striking print of abstract circles of varying sizes in shades of blue green brown and white. This dress is made from a soft and easy to care for 100% cotton. It has a shirtwaist design with buttons down the bodice and a cute large collar that wraps around the back. There is a hook at the waist with snaps under that and a matching belt. Very easy to get on and off and to wash and care for. The silhouette is classic 50s with a more fitted bodice and pleating all around the skirt make it very full. The fabric is lightweight and lovely to the touch. 

Brand tag says "Mode O' Day" which is one of my favorite dress makers of this time period. This dress came from an estate with 4 Mode O'Day dresses all belonging to a woman named Beulla - she knew what she liked! Condition is excellent. Freshly washed and fully restored. There were a few seam separations I fixed but the main flaw was a chunk out of the belt - could not figure out how this might have happened. But I was able to fix it by taking fabric from the inside of the dress, wrapping it around the belt, then I patched it from behind and sewed it to the existing fabric on top so it is super solid now and looks great. You have to look very close to see this repair. The only other problem to note is a tiny touch of color bleed in the armpits of the dress but once again this is very hard to even see. It presents beautifully as you can see from the photos. 

Size is a rare XL or around a modern 12/14. The measurements are as follows:

Shoulder to waist - 16.5"
Waist to hem - 26.5"
