1950's grey and turquoise striped shirtdress in a classic 50s fit and flare silhouette. the colors of this dress are so striking and I love the raglan cut of the bodice which makes the stripes go vertical over the shoulders. The sleeves are dolman cut with cuffs at the ends. These are my favorite collars, split in back and wide over the shoulder. There are buttons down the front that are grey and carved with sparkly rhinestones. The skirt is cut in panels that get wider as they go down creating beautiful fulness. It has a matching belt. The fabric is an easy to wear and care for cotton.
The brand tag says "Fashioned by Claire Tiffany" it was coming off on once side so I stitched it back on just to be extra. Condition is excellent! I bought this from the daughter of the original owner who has been clearing out her parents estate in Northern Idaho. She even had a photo of her Mom wearing the dress which is such a cool bonus. This short owner history helps account for the excellent condition. I gave it a nice long soak and its now as clean as can be. I see a touch of discoloration in the armpit area, but this is so faint it is very hard to notice, a touch more on the right than the left but you really have to search to see what I'm talking about. I fixed a few small seam separations so it is fully restored and ready for a long life with it's next owner. As you can see this dress presents almost like new.
