1950's little boys snowsuit that is fully insulated with the most darling design. This little suit has a grey faux fur collar and the bodice is red with a white and blue galactic dots print. The pants are a true blue with stretchy stirrups at the bottom and zippers at the pant cuffs as well. There is elastic around the waist and an attached belt. Closure is a metal zipper down the front and down one leg with a strap and snap at the neckline. There is rib knit at the sleeve cuffs and the whole suit is insulated and so warm. The insulation is quilted inside. It has a matching hat that is also insulated and has an adjustable chin strap that snaps and a little bill at the front. There is elastic around the back bottom of the hat.
I did not discover any tags, but it is clearly not handmade. Condition is excellent. There were some yellowish stains inside so I gave it a soak and it is as clean as can be now. After the soak there is some lightweight water lines on the inside lining close to the top of the zipper, but it is super clean with no stains or odors. There are some tiny holes in the rib knit of the sleeve cuff on the right side only, but since it is doubled over they don't go all the way through and in no way take away from the integrity of the snow suit. The print is a tiny touch faded on the arms vs. how dark it is on the bodice, but that isn't at all noticeable. All of the elastic in the suit has amazing stretch and is in great shape. Overall condition is outstanding, super soft and fully functional with years of wear to go.
Size is a size 3T-4T. The dress form is a size 4-6 but the box this suit came in says "Boyd Jr. blue + red Size 3 snowsuit" - but to my eye it's a bit bigger than a traditional size 3. The strap that snaps at the neckline would not strap on the dress form but it would be fine on a child. The measurements are as follows:
Pit to pit - 26.3"
Waist - 17-21"
Hips - 29"
Length - 30.5"
Shoulder - 11.5"
Sleeve - 12"
