Late 1970's to early 1980's handbag made from recycled pink plastic bags

$11.00

Late 1970's or early 1980's woven handbag with a super cool mod shape that has a thicker band around the top and very symmetrical woven bags for the rest. It has a rectangular shape with a cut out on either side to make it easy to hold. It took me some close investigating to discover that the material was actually plastic bags, its hard to tell because when I've seen bags with this material in the past they are more wompy and uneven and this one is very minimal and clean. It is likely handmade, but done so expertly and you can tell is is very sturdy with many years of wear to go.

Please note this bag was hard to date so I'm not certain on the dating, but I got it from one of my best friends who bought it at a prominent vintage store in NYC who said it was 70's. This is such a wonderful example of how to recycle plastic bags, it makes a statement that you care about the planet. It is in pristine condition, no issues to speak of.

The size is medium with plenty of room for a wallet, phone, compact, etc. The measurements are as follows:

Height top to bottom - 9.5"
Width side to side - 11.5"
Opening - 8.5"
