1940’s steel blue & brown plaid 2-piece skirt set or suit gorgeous design excellent condition size XS

$116.00

Late 1940's to early 1950's 2-piece skirt set or skirt suit including a beautifully cut 4 button blazer jacket and a-line skirt. The jacket has a very figure flattering shape with thoughtful darting and pockets on the front that have diagonally set pocket flaps. The collar is lovely with a notched design, rounded at the edges. It is fully lined with a silky rayon. The skirt is a-line with a metal side zipper and two sets of hook and eyes for a very secure closure. The skirt is not lined but that fabric isn't itchy - it's actually a super soft textured plaid where the plaid is not printed but woven - it's so pretty. The skirt is cut from 8 panels.

No tags in this 40s suit, it is possible if was handmade but if so I'm really impressed with the construction. The way the suit is lined is very expert level. Condition is excellent. We There was only one set of the hook and eyes on the skirt and we added another so it lays correctly. It is fully cleaned with no holes stains or odors. The lining had started to come off right at the button panel and I stitched it back - a few of my stitches are barely showing but it is unseen when worn an not at all noticeable from the inside view. presents beautifully as you can see.
