1980s stunning and vibrant paisley print dress in a beautiful 100% pure silk. This dress has swirling paisleys in fuchsia pink dark green and yellow on a rich royal blue background. The cut is very 80s does 40s with buttons up the back and a starburst of pleats radiating from the top center of the skirt. Generous shoulder pads as you would expect with a bracelet sleeve that has button cuffs at the end. As I mentioned the closure is covered buttons down the back with a little zipper under the waist. At the top of the buttons are two snaps to keep everything just so. There is elastic around the back of the waist but not in front and it has a matching belt. This fabric feels amazing on and has beautiful movement when worn.
Brand tag is "Maggy London by Jeannene Booher" - very high end and so beautifully made. This dress has never been worn - it is deadstock with the shop tags still attached. What was a real shock and very exciting was to find that the price was $140 in the 1980's - that was A LOT! The retailer was "Palais Royal" which I have never heard of but was obviously a high class store. There are zero flaws on this dress, it is like new and perfect.
Size is a modern medium. The size tag says 6 and I think it will fit a modern 4-8 as the elastic gives you more options. It was darling on my model Annie who is 5'6" and a 34/28/39. The measurements are as follows:
Bust - 40" (but blousey)
Waist - 25-29"
Hips - open (43")
Shoulder to waist - 16.5" (blouson)
Waist to hem - 27.5"
Belt - 5 holes from 24-28"
