1960’s big E Levi’s jeans that have been cut into short shorts. Light wash in a lovely sky blue color these jeans have the traditional 5 pocket design. The Levi's tag on the back has the big E on the tag which dates them prior to 1961. They were purchased from the estate of a woman born in 1922 along with a few other big E Levi's and some 1940s side zips. There is a snap at the waist with a classic and sturdy talon metal zipper that has the "42" on the zipper base. I really wish these were still pants as it would greatly increase the value, but they were cut post production into shorts, and quite short shorts. These are a beautiful example of 60s Levi's denim.
Brand is obviously Levi's and there are no tags on the inside, just the pocket tab and the snap which is embossed with Levis Strauss & Co. S.F. CAL" Condition is excellent! They look hardly worn, and have been freshly washed. There is a tiny spot on the back left pocket stitch at the bottom where the stitches are out just barely in one little place but the string is still intact. Very hard to see but you can maybe tell in the photos, in no way takes away from the integrity or presentation of these jeans. Please note the bottom hem is raw. No holes, stains or odors, just a beautiful pair of jeans with years of wear to go.
Size is a modern XS or around a size 0. The waist measurement seems more generous but the rise is more mid so that circumference is not at your true waist but a few inches below which would be larger around. You should be able to get an idea by measuring the rise from the bottom of your crotch then marking that spot and going around your body at that point. Or find a pair of jeans that fits you and has the same rise and see what that waist measurement is. This woman was very small so I just want to ensure a good fit, and I have only priced these gently because of the uncommonly small size.
