Incredible 1950’s geometric floral print shirtdress with high contrast bright red flowers in black boxes on a brown background. This dress is loaded with incredible details! The print is the first thing you notice but my favorite feature are the square copper buttons. It features a classic 50’s fit and flare shape with a high neckline that has a hook and eye at the front of the collar and the bodice is fitted with an extra full skirt with tiny pleats all around the waistline. It has half length dolman sleeves. Closure are the front buttons plus an interesting side closure with a tiny talon zipper above the waist and snaps below the waist.
No tags, possibly handmade but if so an expert seamstress. Condition is nearly perfect! There was a tiny seam separation along the waist I repaired but it looks practically unworn. The fabric is so rich and crisp that I decided not to wash it, I don’t want to loose any of the deep gorgeous color, but it has no odors and presents like new.
Size is a modern size small or 4-6. The measurements are as follows:
Bust - 39”
Waist - 25.5”
Hips - open
Shoulder to waist - 16”
Waist to bottom hem - 25.25”
