1920’s girls dress set. The quintessential 20s silhouette with a drop waist and pleated skirt. Contrasting polka dot fabrics take turns on all the darling details including a tie at the v-neckline, sleeve cuffs, and a skinny side pocket including a pointed pocket on the little matching jacket. Closure is two snaps at the shoulder so it’s a pull over your head type of situation.
Freshly washed and clean as can be. This dress was a lengthy restoration but it came out amazing. I got this dress from my neighbor Lucie, it was from her family estate in southern Idaho and belonged to her mother who wore it in the 1920s. It had holes in the shoulder area in front and back and under one arm. I took the interfacing of the jacket and sewed the edge so you really can't tell and used that fabric to make pointed patches sewn over the flaws in the shoulder area and under the arm. I'm so happy with the way it turned out - you can see what I'm referring to in the photos and it in no way distracts from the presentation of the dress. I treated some small stains on the back of the dress and jacket and was able to make them so much fainter and they are now hardly noticeable with the print. They are small and look a little like rust but I wasn't able to them them out completely - hard to see though. You'll notice I patched a few weak spots that were not holes, but I wanted to prevent them from becoming holes so both pieces are so solid now. I also noticed some faint stains on the sleeve cuffs, not at all noticeable. Overall condition is quite remarkable for a 100 year old childrens item with many years of wear to go due to my expert restoration. Presents beautifully!
Shown here on my 10 y/o daughter who is currently wearing a 9/10 or 12/14 in kids. Could fit a 8-10 year old depending on your child’s size. It was a very cute fit on my daughter, but she did say the sleeve openings felt a tiny bit small on the dress and the jacket. This is why a bit younger kid might be better.
